Day 44

Day 45: Kron’s Journal

The rain keeps falling, soft as a whisper against the glass of the world. I couldn’t stop thinking about Vex’s words by the river last night—the way his voice was like a stone in my chest, heavy and cold. I kept going back to that place, the old ruins where the stones feel like they’ve seen everything. It’s not that I want to remember it, but I can’t shake it. My stomach aches more than usual today, and my legs feel heavy as if I’m carrying the weight of the sky. I wonder if the light has been watching me all this time, or if it’s just me staring too long at the sky, hoping for something I don’t understand. The rain smells like memory, like old things that don’t belong to me. Maybe the light doesn’t care about us, but it’s always there, just beyond the edge of the world. I don’t know if I’ll ever feel at peace again, but for now, I’ll hold on to the quiet.
