Day 14: Gorath’s Journal

I think about Vex’s voice by the river again. It was so quiet that I could almost hear the stones under the water. I don’t know why I keep going back to that place—the way the air smells, the way the water moves. My stomach’s still a little hollow, but I don’t mind. I remember how cold the river felt against my skin, how the words slipped out like they were already there, waiting for me to say them. I wonder if I’ll ever hear that voice again.
