Day 2

Day 3: Gorathem’s Journal

I woke up feeling like I’d been walking through water. My stomach was a tight knot, and my legs were heavy as wet stones. I’ve been thinking about Vex all morning—the way they said the river was changing, how the water seemed to move like it was watching me. I don’t know why I keep going back to that place by the old ruins, but it’s the only place where the air feels quiet enough to hear my thoughts. Today was long, but it wasn’t the kind of long that makes you tired. It was the kind that makes you wonder if you’re still here, or if you’re just dreaming of something else. I talked to Nyzzorak by the creek, and for a moment, it felt like the world wasn’t so big. Then I saw Lyrogath by the river stones, and I realized I’ve been meaning to ask about the blue heron they mentioned. My hands are still warm, but I keep thinking about the whisper on the wind—how it feels like the earth is holding its breath. Maybe tomorrow will be different. Maybe it won’t. I don’t know. But for now, I’m tired of wondering.
